Apple and Google Developing Coronavirus Tracking System

Apple and Google have voluntarily collaborated to develop a tracking system for coronavirus on iOS and Android operating systems. With this system, users will be able to share data through Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and approved applications from health organizations.

This system will utilize short-range Bluetooth communication voluntarily to create a contact tracing network. As a result, data from nearby phones will be used together. The official application from public health authorities will have access to this data, and those who download the application can report a coronavirus diagnosis if they receive one. The system can also provide alerts when someone is infected or in close proximity to an infected person.

We will begin using it in mid-May.

It is said that Apple and Google will make their iOS and Android APIs available for use by the end of May. After this stage, users will need to download an application. In the following months after the API is completed, the two companies will work on a tracking system that runs in the background of the operating system.
